HTML5 is the fifth revision and newest version of the HTML standard. It offers new features that provide not only rich media support, but also enhance support for creating web applications that can interact with the user, his/her local data, and servers, more easily and effectively than was possible previously.

Because HTML5 is still being developed, changes to the specifications are inevitable. Therefore, not all of its features are supported by all browsers yet. However, Gecko, and by extension, Firefox, has very good initial support for HTML5, and work continues toward supporting more of its features. Gecko began supporting some HTML5 features in version 1.8.1. You can find a list of all of the HTML5 features that Gecko currently supports on the main HTML5 page. For detailed information about multiple browsers' support of HTML5 features, refer to the CanIUse website.

People often think it is extremely difficult to make a website. That is not the case! Everyone can learn how to make a website. And if you read on, you will have made one in just one hour.

Others believe - just as mistakenly - that expensive and advanced software is needed to make websites. It is true that there are lots of different programs that claim they can create a website for you. Some come closer than others. But if you want it done right, you must do it yourself. Fortunately, it is simple and free and you already have all the software you need.</p>

The aim of this tutorial is to give you an easy, yet thorough and correct introduction to how to make websites. The tutorial starts from scratch and requires absolutely no prior knowledge of programming

The tutorial cannot show you everything. So some engagement and a will to experiment are required. But don't worry - learning how to make websites is a lot of fun and gives a tremendous amount of satisfaction when you get it right.

How you choose to use the tutorial is up to you. But we suggest you read only two or three lessons a day and take time to experiment with the new things you learn in each lesson.</p>

The Document Object Model (DOM) is an application programming interface (API) for HTML and XML documents. It defines the logical structure of documents and the way a document is accessed and manipulated. In the DOM specification, the term "document" is used in the broad sense - increasingly, XML is being used as a way of representing many different kinds of information that may be stored in diverse systems, and much of this would traditionally be seen as data rather than as documents. Nevertheless, XML presents this data as documents, and the DOM may be used to manage this data.

Java servlets are web components that allow application logic to be embedded in the HTTP request-response model and provide a way by which a web application can be built.Servlets are efficient, portable, robust, extensible, secure and have a widespread acceptance.Servlets solve many of the common problems when using CGI.

JavaServer Pages (JSP) is a server-side programming technology that enables the creation of dynamic, platform-independent method for building Web-based applications. JSP have access to the entire family of Java APIs, including the JDBC API to access enterprise databases.

Struts is an elegant, extensible framework for creating enterprise-ready Java web applications. The framework is designed to streamline the full development cycle, from building, to deploying, to maintaining applications over time. Apache Struts was originally known as WebWork . This tutorial will teach you how to use Apache Struts for creating enterprise-ready Java web applications in simple and easy steps.

Hibernate was started in 2001 by Gavin King as an alternative to using EJB2-style entity beans. Its mission back then was to simply offer better persistence capabilities than offered by EJB2 by simplifying the complexities and allowing for missing features.

Early in 2003, the Hibernate development team began Hibernate2 releases which offered many significant improvements over the first release.

JBoss, Inc. (now part of Red Hat) later hired the lead Hibernate developers and worked with them in supporting Hibernate. Hibernate is part of JBoss (a division of Red Hat) Enterprise Middleware System (JEMS) suite of products.

The Spring Framework is a lightweight solution and a potential one-stop-shop for building your enterprise-ready applications. However, Spring is modular, allowing you to use only those parts that you need, without having to bring in the rest. You can use the IoC container, with Struts on top, but you can also use only the Hibernate integration code or the JDBC abstraction layer. The Spring Framework supports declarative transaction management, remote access to your logic through RMI or web services, and various options for persisting your data. It offers a full-featured MVC framework, and enables you to integrate AOP transparently into your software.

Java is a high-level programming language originally developed by Sun Microsystems and released in 1995. Java runs on a variety of platforms, such as Windows, Mac OS, and the various versions of UNIX. This tutorial gives a complete understanding of Java.

This reference will take you through simple and practical approach while learning Java Programming language.

Java Programming Language was conceived by the effort of 5 great people, James Gosling, Patrick Naughton, Chris Warth, Mike Sheridan and Ed Frank. They all worked for Sun Microsystems, Inc and came up with Java in 1991. The language took 18 months to develop and had a initial name as "Oak" which was renamed to Java in 1995, due to copyright issues.

The original plan was for the Star7 operating system to be developed in C++ but rejected the idea for several reasons. As a result we have new language that was better for the purposes of the Green project than C++ developed by Gosling. He called the language Oak in honor of a tree that could be seen from his office window.

The .NET Framework is Microsoft's Managed Code programming model for building applications on Windows clients, servers, and mobile or embedded devices. Microsoft's .NET Framework is a software technology that is available with several Microsoft Windows operating systems. In the following sections describes , the basics of Microsoft .Net Frame work Technology and its related programming models.

VB.Net is a simple, modern, object-oriented computer programming language developed by Microsoft to combine the power of the .NET Framework and the common language runtime with the productivity benefits that are the hallmark of Visual Basic.

This tutorial will teach you basic VB.Net programming and will also take you through various advance concepts related to VB.Net programming language.

According to Microsoft, "ASP.NET is a technology for building powerful, dynamic Web applications and is part of the .NET Framework". This tutorial will teach you ASP.NET from scratch, and no knowledge of any kind of serverside scripting is required. Basic HTML and CSS knowledge is preferable. Having worked with Classic ASP or PHP won't give you much of an advantage, since ASP.NET is a whole new way of doing things.
.NET is language independent, which means you can use any .NET supported language to make .NET applications. The most common languages for writing ASP.NET applications are C# and VB.NET. While VB.NET is directly based VB (Visual Basic), C# was introduced together with the .NET framework, and is therefore a some what new language. Some people call C# "the .NET language", but according to Microsoft, you can do all the same things, no matter if you're using C# or VB.NET. The 2 languages are not that different, and if you have used one of them, you will have no problems at all learning the other. In this tutorial we will use C#.

This tutorial is designed for Softwate Testing Professionals with a need to understand the Testing Framework in detail along with its its types, methods and levels. This tutorial will give you enough ingredients to start with software testing process from where you can take yourself at higher level of expertise.

Before proceeding with this tutorial you should have a basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC). A basic understanding of software programming using any programming language is also required.

Web Testing in simple terms is checking your web application for potential bugs before its made live or before code is moved into the production environment.

During this stage issues such as that of web application security, the functioning of the site, its access to handicapped as well as regular users and its ability to handle traffic is checked.

ETL testing (Extract, Transform, and Load). This article will present you with a complete idea about ETL testing and what we do to test ETL process.

It has been observed that Independent Verification and Validation is gaining huge market potential and many companies are now seeing this asprospective business gain. Customers have been offered different range of products in terms of service offerings, distributed in many areas based on technology, process and solutions. ETL or data warehouse is one of the offerings which are developing rapidly and successfully.

Relational database management systems (RDBMSs) often persist mission-critical data which is updated by many applications and potentially thousands if not millions of end users.  Furthermore, they implement important functionality in the form of database methods (stored procedures, stored functions, and/or triggers) and database objects (e.g. Java or C# instances).  The best way to ensure the continuing quality of these assets, at least from a technical point of view, you should have a full regression test suite which you can run on a regular basis.

Quick Test Professional (QTP) is an automated functional Graphical User Interface (GUI) testing tool that allows the automation of user actions on a web or client based computer application.

It is primarily used for functional regression test automation. QTP uses a scripting languagebuilt on top of VBScript to specify the test procedure, and to manipulate the objects and controls of the application under test.

Quality Center helps you organize and manage all phases of the application life cycle management process, including defining releases, specifying requirements, planning tests, executing tests, and tracking defects.

Test Automation demands considerable investments of money and resources. Successive development cycles will require execution of same test suite repeatedly. Using a test automation tool it’s possible to record this test suite  and re-play it  as required. Once the  test suite is automated,  no human intervention is required . This improved ROI of Test Automation.

Goal of Automation is to reduce number of test cases to be run manually and not eliminate manual testing all together.

Manual testing is one of the earliest type of software testing. Here the tester manually tests the software for defects (performs a set of functional tasks). The tester follows a set of test cases derived from a set of requirements. Here a test plan is followed.

It requires the tester to step into the shoes of the enduser and test the application as if he was to use it.

C++ is a middle-level programming language developed by Bjarne Stroustrup starting in 1979 at Bell Labs. C++ runs on a variety of platforms, such as Windows, Mac OS, and the various versions of UNIX.

This reference will take you through simple and practical approach while learning C++ Programming language.

The C is a general-purpose, procedural, imperative computer programming language developed in 1972 by Dennis M. Ritchie at the Bell Telephone Laboratories to develop the UNIX operating system.

The C is the most widely used computer language, it keeps fluctuating at number one scale of popularity along with Java programming language, which is also equally popular and most widely used among modern software programmers
